What is a Building Permit Portal Service?
A building permit portal service is where House of Three provides assistance during the permit application process. If you are new to building, such as someone considering converting their basement into a secondary suite, you are required to submit a building permit application before ground is broken on your building project. During the permit process you are still responsible for payment of municipal fees and ensuring that all documents are signed off.
The support services we can offer you are setting up or using the owner’s account, making sure you have full access to manage your permit application, and we can even help you submit the application. We also offer other additional services like uploading additional consultant documents. This would depend on the level of service that you select.
DASH Permit Portal Service
The DASH Permit Portal is available only to builds located in the City of Kingston. With this service selection we can provide you with three distinct tasks: creating a DASH account for you using your personal email, submit your initial building permit application, and provide you with your login credentials to keep track of your inspections and necessary payments to the municipality.
With this service, we are not responsible for any payments that are made directly to the city. This would include permit payments and other fees like impost and development charges. Clients are also responsible for any other additional future uploads, like updated HVAC designs.
DASH PLUS Permit Portal Service
Similarly, the DASH PLUS Permit Portal service is also only available to builds located in the City of Kingston. With this service offering we will fulfill a few additional tasks. This will include creating a DASH account using your email address, submitting the initial permit application, giving you all login credentials so you can keep track of inspections and payments, and we will upload review responses and other documents, that are required before the building permit is issued.
You as the client will still be responsible for all payments made directly to the city for the permit and any additional fees.
Permit Portal Service for Other Municipal Online Permitting Systems
This service is only available for municipalities that have an online permit portal system. Similar to the DASH Permit Portal Service, this service offers three key tasks. These services are creating the portal account that uses your email address, submitting the initial building permit application, and providing you with the login credentials for you to check in on inspections and payments.
Clients will be responsible for all payments made directly to the municipality for any permits or other necessary fees. Clients will also be responsible for any other future uploads.
