What is Engineering Coordination Services
Engineering Coordination Services are intended to help streamline communication between you and the engineers sourced for your project. This is to help make sure that all drawings are prepared as required and aligned with consultant necessities. Depending on how complex your project is, the options can range from basic coordination and minimal plan updates to detailed drafting and grading servicing plans. These services will all include communication between us and our preferred engineering partners. All engineering and consulting fees will be paid directly by the client.
Option #1 - Minor engineering, no drafting details required
This option is available for anyone in the Kingston and surrounding areas, plus those located in Peterborough and Ottawa.
With this plan, we will manage engineering coordination for your project. This will include quotes, meetings, and plan updates. Additionally, we will obtain estimates from our preferred engineering firm, respond to questions about your design plans, meet with the engineer for up to 2 hours to review the project scope, facilitate the contract setup between you the client and the engineer, provide minor plan revisions for notes or sizing updates (for up to 1 hour), and prepare cleaned base drawings for the engineers.
The client will be responsible for handling all payments that are made directly to the chosen engineering firm.
Option #2 - More involved engineering requiring drafting details
This option is also available for anyone in the Kingston and surrounding areas, plus those located in Peterborough and Ottawa.
With option 2, we will manage the engineering coordinator for your project. This will include quotes, meetings, and plan updates in addition to all of the additional tasks listed in option 1. To make option 2 stand out, we will have a higher level of involvement in the required drafting details. This will include up to 7 hours of design time for detail drafting to reduce engineering costs.
The client will be responsible for handling all payments that are made directly to the chosen engineering firm.
Grading and Servicing Plan Coordination
The Grading and Servicing Plan oversees the process of getting grading and servicing plans as requested by the municipality that the build is in. From here we will secure quotes from our preferred engineering or surveying plans, we will coordinate communication and answer any design questions, revise electronic drawings to make sure any changes are visible, manage the contract between Engineer or Surveyor and you, and we will help prepare a clean base drawing of the building for engineer use.
Like with the other options, the client will be responsible for all payments made directly to the partner party, in this case, the Engineering or Surveying firm.
