Senior Architectural Technologist – FULL TIME
Qualifications:
- MUST have BCIN qualifications in General Legal and Small Buildings
- Minimum five years of relevant working experience
- Robust design, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical skills with the ability to prepare construction documents/drawings for a wide variety of building types
- Comprehensive knowledge of building science and the Ontario Building Code is a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adept at meeting deadlines and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to qualify for CPIC and security clearances as needed
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Design solutions that meet client needs
- Measure, document, and interpret documents on the as-built conditions of existing buildings
- Participate in and conduct meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities
- Prepare both preliminary and construction documents, including developing details and writing specifications
- Manage and coordinate the work of other disciplines including engineers, planners, and interior designers
- Prepare Building Code and zoning analysis and reports
Education and Training
- Diploma in Architectural Technician/Technology or equivalent from an accredited Canadian college
- BCIN qualifications in General Legal and Small Buildings as a minimum plus one other BCIN qualification.
- Proficiency in SoftPlan is preferred, however, skills with other architectural design software will be considered
